KGALAGADI BREWERIES LIMITED-CONTIGENCY PLANNING

KGALAGADI BREWIERIES LIMITED
CONTEGENCY PLANNING
The write up discusses the contingency planning procedures of the marathon event that took place at the Francistown National Stadium. The main aim to be looked into is contingency planning. Contingency Planning is defined as the development of an effective response in a non-emergency environment, thus predetermine actions that reduce conflicts (Buse & Taylor, 2012). During the marathon day there was a power cut and the master of ceremony has to make announcements naturally, because there was no plan B to the power cut.
The planning is of benefit because it is a way of analyzing the effect of a possible crises so that tolerable and suitable preparations are put in place in advanced to respond in a timely and effective and appropriate manner (UN Refugee Agency, 2011). Contingency planning is vital because if the organizing team could have done it there might be the provision of a backup generators for instance  to cater for the power cut but it was not there, as its absence lead to the situation whereby the athletes and other people could not hear the announcements well. In the end contingency planning is beneficial because it leads to documentation that respond before the emergency arrives (UN Refugee Agency, 2011).
