CHARITABLE EVENT

CHARITABLE EVENT
LEADERSHIP
As defined by Sharma & Jain (2013: 310) leadership is a way in which a person has the ability to influence others to accomplish an objective and give direction to the organization in a way that brings unity and logic to it. There are some factors that influence leadership such as being honesty by being able to understand who you are as the leader, being confident and able to convince the followers (Sharma & Jain, 2013: 311). During the event preparation there were some delays that were posed by the fact that the leader lacked these mentioned qualities.

The other factor to be considered is communication which according to Sharma & Jain (2010: 311) can be nonverbal, for example a leader can always strive to be exemplary by making sure he or she is always ready to perform other tasks without delegating. This is what the event leader did as he was the one working with management most of the times. The other factor is the ability to listen to the followers and being able to identify the will of the group and helping in clarify their wills (Spears, 2010: 27).
